Our aims.

We agree to continue to seek the unity for which Christ prayed by
Making known our unity in Christ
Aiming to deepen the fellowship of Christians in this area
Bringing more people to be disciples of Christ.

Our common beliefs.

We, the members of the Anglican, Roman Catholic, Vernon Hall Free church, Baptist and Methodist churches in this area reaffirm our belief that the visible unity of all Christians is the Will of God.

We acknowledge the authority of scripture.

We proclaim God as our creator and parent.

We believe that God's Son Jesus Christ reveals to us both the nature of God, and the perfect nature of each human being. We proclaim Jesus as our inspiration and our Saviour. We follow His teachings. He calls us through His death on the cross and His resurrection to fullness of life in God.

We believe in the power of the Holy Spirit of God at work in the world today.

We believe that the wonders and riches of creation are intended, for all people to enjoy in freedom.

We admit our weaknesses and that we make mistakes, and proclaim with gratitude that through the saving grace of our Lord there is forgiveness, God's unbounded love and eternal life.

We value and respect the diversity of the churches within this covenant and recognise the richness and importance to them of their different traditions.

Our work together.

We, agree to publicise and promote Church life and worship by joint means wherever possible.
We agree to move through our present co-operation in search of the unity for which Christ prayed.
We are committed to working in every way possible for justice throughout God's world.
We are committed to praying for and with each other in arranging the commemoration of Good Friday and other united acts of worship; and our mutual encouragement of all ecumenical ventures.
